The Plainview Pirate band will be holding a public con- cert on March 23 to prepare for their performance at the State Capitol building on March 24.
The March 23 public performance will be at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in an attempt to duplicate the reverberation like at the State Capitol.
The performance is free and open to all who wish to attend, and the performance will begin at 2 p.m., so audience members should be seated prior to that time to avoid interruption of the performance.
Then, on March 24th, the Band will travel to Lincoln to perform at the State Capitol building in the “Capitol Concert Series” that the band had auditioned for and won a spot in the performance schedule.
The series is lined up by the Nebraska Music Educator’s Association, and musical talent must practice, record and send audition tapes to be invited to perform.
Plainview will perform in the State Capitol building Rotunda from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, March 24 during Music Education week at the Capitol. They will be followed that day by the Hastings High School Chamber Orchestra from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The remainder of the week will feature other performances by: DC West Honor Choir, Schoo Middle School Orchestra, Cambridge 5th & 6th Grade Choir, Thayer Central Concert Choir, Central High School A Capella Choir, Baker’s Dozen and Neptune’s Angels from Columbus High School and the Nebraska Wesleyan Gold Standard singers, among others.
The public is invited to attend the Capitol Concert as well.
